Defending champion suffered humiliating defeat in the first match of Nepal premier league 2025 as Kathmandu Gorkhas began their campaign with a commanding victory against Janakpur bolts. Set to bat first by Kathmandu Gorkhas, Janakpur Bolts struggled as they were able to score modest 130 run.
Defending champions Janakpur posted 130 runs for six wickets in the 20 overs. Aasif Sheikh was the standout performer with the first half-century of the NPL 2025. For Kathmandu Gorkhas, Milind Kumar took three wickets. Kathmandu Gorkhas chased down the target in 18 over. Team from the capital city easily chased down the target by loosing 5 wickets.
