Sudurpashchim Royals have secured their second consecutive win in NPL 2025. Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Pokhara Avengers by 18 runs in the Nepal Premier League on Friday after a dominant start with the bat and a controlled finish with the ball at Kirtipur. Earlier on Wednesday, they defeated Kathmandu Gorkhas by 29 runs. This is Pokhara’s second consecutive loss.
The highlight of Sudurpashchim’s victory was the century partnership between Jas Brown and Vinod Bhandari, with Brown’s explosive batting being the key factor. Chasing a target of 194 runs, Pokhara Avengers were restricted to 175 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.
For Pokhara, captain Kushal Bhurtel scored his second consecutive half-century, but he couldn’t guide his team to victory.
However, captain Kushal Bhurtel and James Neesham tried to get the team back into the game. Between the 7th and 10th overs, they added 45 runs. By the end of the 10th over, Pokhara had scored 70 runs.
Neesham, who had settled on the crease, faced Deependra Singh Airee in the 12th over. Although Neesham hit two sixes off the first two balls, he was eventually bowled out on the third ball for 47 runs. After losing Neesham at 95 runs, Pokhara was once again in trouble. Tomorrow, in the first match, Lumbini Lions will play Karnali Yaks, and in the second match, Kathmandu Gorkhas will face Biratnagar Kings.
