Chitwan Rhinos defeated High flying Biratnagar Kings Yesterday. Chitwan defeated Biratnagar by 48 runs, stopping their streak of three consecutive wins. This is Chitwan’s second straight victory. With 4 points, Chitwan has climbed to third place. This is Biratnagar’s first loss in their fourth match. Chasing a target of 175 runs for victory, Biratnagar were bowled out for just 126 in 16.5 overs.
Biratnagar, while pursuing the competitive target, had a very poor start. They lost four wickets while adding only 37 runs in the powerplay. Three of their top-order batters failed to reach double digits. Opener Lokesh Bam was dismissed for 7 runs by Kamal Airee. The other opener, George Munsey, returned to the pavilion for 4 runs off Sohail Tanvir’s delivery. When both openers were out, Biratnagar had made only 12 runs.
Ranjit Kumar, playing his first match of the ongoing season, took 5 wickets in succession, dismantling Biratnagar’s batting lineup.
