Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi is now the first bowler to take 100 wickets in the Prime Minister Cup: Men’s National Cricket Tournament. He reached the historic milestone with a six-wicket haul against Karnali in Lamahi, Dang, on Tuesday.

Rajbanshi also broke the record of  Surya Tamang’s record for most wickets in an edition 30 wickets as Rajbanshi now has 36 wickets in eight games.

The left-handed batter and left-arm spin bowler made his ODI debut at the age of 15 years and 340 days against the USA in February 2020.  Malla is currently Nepal’s fifth-highest run-scorer in T20 internationals. He has scored total of  917 runs in 47 matches, including one century and four half-centuries.

Janakpur defeated the Sudurpaschim Royals by a thrilling five wickets. In the first qualifier, Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Janakpur Bolts.

The Sudurpaschim Royals scored 184 runs after winning the toss. Binod Bhandari and opener Saif Zaib shared a 117-run partnership for the first wicket after Bhandari added 41 off 31 balls and Zaib hit 69 off 43 balls. Janakpur, who were chasing 185, began the inning with a strong blow from Lahiru Milantha. 105 runs were scored by the Bolts in the first ten overs. Milantha scored 87 runs off of 49 balls, which helped Janakpur reach the difficult 185-run mark.

Jankpur Bolts have already lost twice in the competition to Sudurpaschim.

Final 4 of the Nepal Premier League has been confirmed as Sudurpaschim defeated Karnali Yaks in the final league match of the Nepal Premier League 2024. Despite the loss, Karnali Yaks have secured their place as the fourth team in the playoffs. Sudurpaschim topped the table with 12 points, followed by Janakpur in second place. Chitwan secured third place, while Karnali finished fourth.

Sudurpaschim Royals will take on Janakpur Bolts in the first qualifier after defeating Karnali Yaks in the final league match on Monday.  Meanwhile, Chitwan Rhinos and Karnali Yaks will compete in the eliminator. The winner of the first qualifier will advance directly to the final, while the losing side will face the eliminator winner in the second qualifier for another chance to reach the final.
