Sudurpashchim Royals have secured a spot in the first Qualifier of the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with their sixth consecutive win.
Sudurpashchim defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 49 runs today. Sudurpashchim remain the only unbeaten team in the ongoing league. For Chitwan, who faced their fourth defeat, the journey to the playoffs has become very difficult. Meanwhile there is good news for the Biratnagar Kings fan as the Chitwan Rhino’s loss has confirmed Biratnagar Kings’ place in the playoffs. Biratnagar have become the third team to enter the playoffs.
Chasing a target of 170 runs for victory, Chitwan were bowled out for 120 runs in 17.1 overs. Earlier, Kathmandu Gorkhas had secured their place in the playoffs with their fifth win, thanks to Sahab Alam’s hat-trick. Kathmandu became the second team to reach the playoffs after defeating Pokhara Avengers by 13 runs.
